SEOUL, South Korea, August 13, 2026 — 3billion, an AI-powered rare disease diagnostics company, reported consolidated revenue of KRW 7.2 billion for the first half of 2026, up 56% from approximately KRW 4.6 billion in the same period last year. Second-quarter revenue reached KRW 3.8 billion, up 46% year over year and 13% quarter over quarter.
International revenue increased 59% year over year to approximately KRW 4.9 billion and accounted for about 69% of total revenue. Demand remained steady for WES- and WGS-based rare disease diagnostic services. Family Insight, the company’s family-based genetic testing service launched in February, also began contributing revenue, primarily from international markets.
Domestic revenue increased by approximately 50% year over year, while operating performance continued to improve. Operating loss narrowed by 7% to KRW 3.3 billion, and the operating loss margin improved by 31%p, from 78% to 47%. With revenue growth of 56% outpacing the 29% increase in operating expenses, the relative burden of operating losses declined.
The company recorded consolidated net income of KRW 5.3 billion for the first half of 2026, reflecting non-cash fair value gains on convertible bonds (CBs) and convertible preferred shares (CPS) issued in May. These gains did not generate cash and were unrelated to a shift to operating profitability in the company’s core business.
Building on this performance, 3billion is strengthening its foundation for long-term growth. The company secured KRW 30 billion in growth capital through the issuance of KRW 12.5 billion in CBs and KRW 17.5 billion in CPS. The proceeds will be used to expand its global diagnostics business and invest in AI drug discovery R&D.
The company is also broadening its diagnostic portfolio. In June, it launched 3B-NEO, a genomic newborn screening (gNBS) service for healthy newborns, in international markets and was selected as a service provider for a newborn screening program led by the Philippine government. Revenue contributions from these initiatives are expected to begin in the second half of 2026.
“During the first half, growing demand for genetic diagnostics in domestic and international markets drove strong revenue growth and continued improvement in our operating performance,” said Changwon Keum, CEO of 3billion. “We will continue to strengthen our competitiveness in the global genomic diagnostics market by expanding beyond rare disease diagnostics into preventive services, including newborn screening and family-based genetic testing.”
