SEOUL, South Korea, June 18, 2026 — 3billion, an AI-powered rare disease diagnostics company, announced that it will attend the BIO International Convention, taking place in San Diego from June 22 to 25.

Hosted by the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO), the convention is the world’s largest and most comprehensive event for the biotechnology industry. It brings together more than 20,000 biotechnology and life sciences leaders, including executives from pharmaceutical and biotech companies, investors, and other industry stakeholders, to explore opportunities for scientific and business collaboration.

During the convention, 3billion will hold partnering meetings with global pharmaceutical and biotech companies to explore AI-powered drug discovery collaborations. Discussions will focus on opportunities for joint research in novel target discovery and drug candidate development as the company seeks to expand its global partnership network.

3billion’s AI-powered drug discovery program is built on genomic and clinical data from more than 100,000 patient cases accumulated through its rare disease diagnostic services. The company leverages these data to identify novel therapeutic targets and discover promising drug candidates. It is also continuing to advance its AI drug discovery capabilities by building a growing pipeline of drug discovery programs.

To advance these efforts, 3billion operates SAGE, a platform for identifying novel therapeutic targets, and MIN-T, an AI-powered platform for designing drug candidates. By combining AI with real-world patient genomic data collected through rare disease diagnosis, the platforms identify disease-relevant targets and design potential drug candidates, helping improve the likelihood of success in the early stages of drug development.

3billion previously demonstrated its technical capabilities at CAGI7, an international genomic interpretation challenge, where it achieved the top performance in the FGFR function prediction challenge last year. In benchmark comparisons with state-of-the-art AI models, including Google DeepMind’s AlphaMissense and Meta’s ESM, 3billion’s model delivered strong performance in predicting whether genetic variants cause a gain or loss of protein function. It also effectively distinguished functional changes associated with drug response, demonstrating its potential for AI-powered target discovery and drug development.
