3billion Partners with Seoul Asan Medical Center to Support Genetic Testing for 28 Patients

On February 28, 2025, in celebration of Rare Disease Day, 3billion held a 228km marathon challenge to raise awareness and support for rare disease patients. Over 30 employees participated, collectively covering the distance and successfully securing funds to provide whole-exome sequencing (WES) tests for 28 patients. The initiative reflects 3billion’s commitment to improving the diagnosis and treatment of rare diseases through advanced genetic analysis.
After the marathon challenge, 3billion carefully considered how to best allocate the funds to ensure that the tests reached the patients who would benefit most. They selected Seoul Asan Medical Center, a leading institution for rare diseases in the Seoul region, known for its strong medical expertise and patient accessibility. On March 10, 2025, 3billion signed an agreement with Professor Bum-Hee Lee from the Medical Genetics Center at Seoul Asan Medical Center to provide the 28 genetic tests.
Whole-exome sequencing is a powerful diagnostic tool that enables the identification of genetic mutations linked to rare diseases. By supporting these tests, 3billion aims to help patients receive more accurate diagnoses and targeted treatments, improving their overall care and quality of life. Seoul Asan Medical Center’s established reputation and specialized resources will ensure that patients receive timely and effective care.
